Unnamed woman \u2013 1580<\/b><\/p>\n

A vague reference in a Danish book refers to a woman burnt for having used tilberi (a peculiar female magic to steal milk from sheep and cows). In 1635 a woman was acquitted after rumours had circulated that she kept a tilberi.<\/p>\n

Gu\u00f0r\u00fan \u00deorsteinsd\u00f3ttir \u2013 1605<\/b><\/p>\n

Burnt for having killed a baby by throwing it into a boiling cauldron. No contemporary source directly mentions witchcraft in connection with this case.<\/p>\n

Sveinn skotti Axlar-Bjarnarson \u2013 1646<\/b><\/p>\n

The son of Iceland\u2019s worst mass murderer. After repeated convictions for theft, rape, and sorcery, he was whipped and it was declared that he had forfeited his life if found guilty again. He was hanged for attempted rape.<\/p>\n

J\u00f3n J\u00f3nsson (R\u00ed\u00f0uma\u00f0ur) \u2013 1650<\/b><\/p>\n

Condemned for incest but after he was beheaded he was found to have magical amulets with staves in his shoes. His body was then burnt.<\/p>\n

Halld\u00f3r Finnbogason \u2013 1685<\/b><\/p>\n

Burnt at \u00deingvellir for blasphemy. Recited \u201cOur Father who art in Hell\u201d at all his trials.<\/p>\n
