J\u00f3n Magn\u00fasson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>J\u00f3n J\u00f3nsson jun. \u2013 1656<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt in \u00cdsafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. Admitted having used magical signs and among other things, having used farting-runes (Fretr\u00fanir) against a girl, and caused the sickness of the rev. J\u00f3n Magn\u00fasson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00de\u00f3rarinn Halld\u00f3rsson \u2013 1667<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From \u00cdsafjar\u00f0ars\u00fdsla, the Westfjords. Burnt at the general assembly at \u00deingvellir. Admitted that he had carved helms of awe (\u00c6gishj\u00e1lmur) on oak and practiced healing with the aid of magical signs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>J\u00f3n Leifsson \u2013 1669<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt in Bar\u00f0astrandars\u00fdsla in the Westfjords for having caused the illness of Helga, wife of the rev. P\u00e1ll Bj\u00f6rnsson in Sel\u00e1rdalur. Admitted that he had tried to gain some knowledge of the occult.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Erlendur Eyj\u00f3lfsson \u2013 1669<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt in H\u00fanavatnss\u00fdsla county in north Iceland for having taught J\u00f3n Leifsson magic. Admitted that he had handed J\u00f3n a stave named Ausukross.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Sigur\u00f0ur J\u00f3nsson \u2013 1671<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt in \u00deingvellir after a trial in \u00cdsafjar\u00f0ars\u00fdsla county. Admitted among other things that he had fought a ghost and frightened it off with the help of herbs and his own semen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>P\u00e1ll Oddsson \u2013 1674<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From H\u00fanavatnss\u00fdsla county, burnt at \u00deingvellir. Denied all knowledge of magic but was convicted because of rumours against him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>B\u00f6\u00f0var \u00deorsteinsson \u2013 1674<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt at \u00deingvellir after having admitted that he had prevented a ship in Sn\u00e6fellsnes from fishing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Magn\u00fas Bjarnason \u2013 1675<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Admitted that he had caused the sickness of Helga, P\u00e1ll Bj\u00f6rnsson\u2019s wife, in Sel\u00e1rdalur, Westfjords.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Lassi Di\u00f0riksson \u2013 1675<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Condemned in connection with the sickness of Helga in Sel\u00e1rdalur, denied all charges and was generally thought innocent. Burnt at \u00deingvellir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Bjarni Bjarnason \u2013 1677<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supposed to have caused a woman\u2019s illness in the Westfjords. Denied all charges but was burnt at \u00deingvellir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00deorbj\u00f6rn Sveinsson \u2013 1677<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A marked thief who was found in possession of magical signs. Admitted that he had used sorcery to try to find out who had stolen from him and to make sheep easier to handle. From M\u00fdras\u00fdsla county in the West, burnt at \u00deingvellir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Stef\u00e1n Gr\u00edmsson \u2013 1678<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Admitted freely after a death sentence was passed, though none of the things he was accused of. Burnt in H\u00fanavatnss\u00fdsla county.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>J\u00f3n Helgason \u2013 1678<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Burnt in Bar\u00f0astrandars\u00fdsla county in the Westfjords for having caused the sickness of Helga in Sel\u00e1rdalur.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>\u00deur\u00ed\u00f0ur \u00d3lafsd\u00f3ttir \u2013 1678<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mother of J\u00f3n Helgason, burnt for the same offence on the words of the rev. P\u00e1ll Bj\u00f6rnsson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><b>Ari P\u00e1lsson \u2013 1681<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From Bar\u00f0astrandars\u00fdsla where he was rumoured to have practiced magic, burnt at \u00deingvellir after failing to get his peers to swear his innocence.
